Company History

From 1966 to 1982, AUDY delivered over 200 dynamic analog simulator training systems and developed over 250 process models for customers in over 35 countries. This analog simulator, the AUDY 1501, became the benchmark of the process industry for simulation training technology.

AUTODYNAMICS INC. (AUDYTM) was founded in 1966 with the objective to design, develop and maintain operator training simulator systems to support operator training for the process industry.

AUDY's technology leadership continued with the introduction of digital training simulator systems in 1983. AUDY has produced more than 200 digital simulator systems for customers in over 45 countries, and more that 300 different process models for gas processing, refining, petrochemical, chemical, fertilizer, pulp and paper, and fossil fueled electric generation power plants.
In 1984, AUTODYNAMICS INC. was acquired by Gilbert Associates, Inc. (Gilbert), an engineering and consulting company located in Reading, Pennsylvania, as part of a corporate diversification plan.

A Services Division was established within AUTODYNAMICS in the mid 1980's to maintain the extensive hardware configurations and sophisticated software associated with simulator systems and a commitment to life-cycle maintenance of these systems. Additionally, the Services Division's mission was expanded to provide independent, third party maintenance of similar computer systems as the expertise and infrastructure existed within AUTODYNAMICS to support this activity.
On July 1, 1990, the Services Division of AUTODYNAMICS was acquired from Gilbert by the management of AUTODYNAMICS to form TRIDENT. Subsequently, the Simulation Division of AUTODYNAMICS was acquired from Gilbert by TRIDENT on March 1, 1991.
The acquisition of AUTODYNAMICS by TRIDENT included all assets, technology, software and trademarks. TRIDENT has the exclusive right to market AUTODYNAMICS (AUDY) training simulator products and software, and both are registered trademarks of TRIDENT.

TRIDENT is headquartered in Eatontown, New Jersey, U.S.A., with engineering offices in Newtown, Pennsylvania and Houston, Texas. TRIDENT also has service center offices in California, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Texas and Virginia.
