Education systems worldwide are trying to keep pace with the rapid evolution of Internet Training (IT). Even in industrialized nations many classrooms lack Internet connections, leaving students ill prepared for the opportunities of today's information driven economy. And limited budgets and a shortage of technical expertise hamper those institutions that do have access to the Internet as they struggle to maintain and expand their information resources.
Get connected with TRIDENT's Network Team
TRIDENT can provide your school with a state of the art Network to meet all of your Information Processing needs. We offer Network products, systems and services from all the major manufacturers, representing the newest technology for Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, FDDI, Internet access, and Voice over IP.
Information Technology Project Planning
Without exception, project planning is the most important aspect of any school's Information Technology project, regardless of its size. A solid, well thought out plan ensures that a school's network is as 'future proof' as possible, that the project is implemented on time, and that all associated expenses are predicted and budgeted up front.
The foundation of TRIDENT's technology project planning process is the Network Technology Plan, a planning and inventory methodology designed in collaboration with educators. This planning methodology has been used successfully within school systems over the past years to address all areas of Information Technology project planning.
Once completed, the Technology Plan serves as a valuable document of current hardware and software. Throughout the planning process, TRIDENT collaborates with the customer to define and refine a project's objectives. White board sessions are held with designated project team members as frequently as necessary to discuss, critique and modify the proposed design until final approval. The long term success of the technology project is directly attributable to the amount of planning time. TRIDENT's business partnerships include a number of major computer hardware and software manufacturers who have developed highly specialized academic products for the educational market. Bringing subcontractors into the planning process who are focused on the academic climate has proven to be a best value solution for the educational environment. In many instances, TRIDENT has custom designed the network infrastructure exclusively to accommodate a particular academic product. Whether your school is ready to explore networking for the first time or ready to update an existing network, call TRIDENT for an in depth, on site technology planning consultation.
Information Technology Project Coordination
With an approved Information Technology project plan in hand, a school system is now ready to begin the project by acquiring the products and related services, including subcontractors. As Project Manager, TRIDENT is qualified to assume full responsibility for the successful installation of the school system's network. Responsibility and accountability can be shared alternately between TRIDENT and your school's Administration.
The approach to coordinating a technology project successfully is to ensure that the process is highly interactive. As Project Manager, TRIDENT will establish interactive communications with your school's team in order to review and coordinate each phase of deployment. An assigned project manager and engineering staff meet on a regular basis with members of the schools Administration to conduct technical white board sessions. The status of critical project milestones and ongoing needs are reviewed at these sessions. As part of that process, management and technical review meetings are conducted with the TRIDENT purchasing department, sales staff and engineering staff to review the progress of each phase of the installation. Progress reports document the project status, engineering accomplishments, a punch list of installation issues and suggested solutions. Projects are monitored using Project management software.
It is the combination of these approaches that enables the project manager to communicate project information during the deployment. TRIDENT is prepared to act as the single source for product procurement in order to ensure product integrity and compatibility, and to minimize equipment conflicts.
Additionally, we are partnered with a number of academically geared companies who install language labs, design administration software packages, provide network and hardware upgrades, and specialize in web access and Internet security.
Information Technology Implementation Support
- System/Network Administration
- User Support
- Training
- Engineering/Technical Outsourcing
The final phase of the technology project is support. Unlike other network integration companies who are just starting to offer maintenance services, TRIDENT has been in this business for twenty years. As a result, we are able to offer our customers a solid foundation of network support and maintenance. Our Service Maintenance Division has more than 50 engineers in the field providing maintenance, parts and service for thousands of users throughout the world.
We are finding that more and more schools do not have a dedicated, full time Network Administrator with up to date training and authorization. In our experience, most schools rely on what's called a 'super user,' someone who is expected to solve technology issues in addition to a daily teaching curriculum. To address this growing need for LAN (Local Area Network) management, TRIDENT out sources part or full time LAN managers on a contract basis to handle system administration projects. TRIDENT's Systems Engineers are highly skilled technical specialists who can come to your school and evaluate and analyze your computer system's performance. They can also troubleshoot your system's problems, determine how to optimize its performance, and provide administrative support for networks. Systems Engineers actively participate in pre sales support and provide on site training. From system support to network administration to end user training, TRIDENT's support services are designed to assure the customer that TRIDENT remains committed to the project over the long term.
Information Technology Project Implementation
- Equipment Installation
- Application Development
- Network Installation
- Network LAN/WAN Integration
Implementing an I.T. Project often looks like a daunting and overwhelming responsibility. TRIDENT offers a full range of technology services and professional expertise to manage your school's entire project, or to provide assistance during any phase or part of the implementation.
The critical elements of a successful implementation are to:
Understand
the goals and objectives of the school's I.T. Project through open communication and project resolution skills
Solve
critical networking issues such as performance, capability, and security
Simplify
the installation, operation, and maintenance of the network
Ensure
reliability with proven system designs and products
Secure
the network against unauthorized users, viruses, or undesirable electronic material
Assuming full implementation management, TRIDENT will ensure that all phases of the project arc clearly, consistently and continuously communicated to the customer. Throughout the deployment, the assigned TRIDENT project manager meets with the school's project team to review critical project milestones. Outstanding issues will be addressed at this time and brought to satisfactory resolution. Upcoming tasks are previewed and discussed. Through this interactive approach, the school system is fully aware of the status of the implementation. The goal of these project meetings is to keep the project on time and within budget by eliminating unexpected surprises. Our previous experience with major projects, and especially with educational institutions, has proven these sessions to be crucial to the success of technology projects.
We know you want your students to be prepared for the future, and for the world of E learning they will encounter as they continue their education. Let TRIDENT remove the risk and worry for you by applying the technical expertise we have taken years to develop so that you don't have to.
